What?

#Icare4rare is a social media campaign jointly organised by Biogen, in collaboration with Reuters Events and EU40, ahead of their Unlocking innovation and access for rare disease patients in Europe online virtual policy event taking place on Monday, 22 February, from 14:00 to 15:45 CET.

The event will mark the start of Rare Disease Week 2021 and will bring together the European rare disease community to tackle this area of great unmet medical need, gain insights on the impact that policy decisions have on improving care and the quality of lives of people affected by rare diseases.

Why?

The campaign aims to raise awareness about rare diseases across Europe as part of the build up to Rare Disease Week and beyond. Biogen, Reuters Events, and EU40 aim to contribute to Rare Disease Week by hosting the online virtual policy event and raising awareness about rare diseases policies via social media.

Who?

Those involved will be different stakeholders in the rare disease community, including policy-makers, innovators, academia, industry executives, medical professionals and patient organisations.

Where?

The pictures/content will be shared across Reuters Events, Biogen and EU40 social channels, with a combined reach of nearly 100,000 people.

When?

The campaign effort to give prominence to Rare Disease Week will take place throughout the month of February. This will culminate with the policy debate taking placing at the start of Rare Disease Week and with Rare Disease Day (28 February).

How to get involved?

You can help raise awareness of the impact of rare diseases by joining our #Icare4rare campaign. Choose one of the below images containing a statement about rare diseases and share it on your social media along with the hashtag #Icare4rare and your personal message about rare diseases.
