This session dealt with the workings of cross-sector collaboration, particularly on such things as addressing food security issues in Africa

The panels went into detail about the reality of cross-sector partnerships, looking specifically at the partnership between the UNWFP and Mastercard. Partnerships do require additional resources but the most effective way to address the SDGs is through collaboration and the combining of different skills and resources. The key to overcoming the difficulties of different agendas is to find a common goal, such as ending world hunger, and work from there. Later on, the discussion focuses on post-harvest losses and the ways in which progress has been made with this issue as a result of collaboration with the help of the Rockefeller Foundation.

Speakers:

Prerana Isaar, Director of Private Sector Partnership, UNWFP

Mamadou Biteye, Managing Director, Africa, The Rockefeller Foundation

Antonia Stroeh, Senior Vice President, Government Development, Mastercard

Amanda MacArthur, Chief Program Officer, PYXERA Global
